New York City’s traditional Park Avenue community has a new neighbor. The Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC is a newly-built, 20-story hotel located on a highly visible and prominent corner in Lower Midtown Manhattan. The architecture, designed by the Stephen P. Jacobs Group, is decidedly contemporary — tinted glass and metal panels — with an unusual glass “column” at the corner. This column  becomes a dramatic pillar of light and color at night. The interiors are chic and contemporary, and color-rich and textural in materials and fabrics, all with the perfect balance of lighting. The hotel features a design-award-winning bar, glamorous lounges, and a penthouse club.

There are 249 rooms and suites, all large and lofty, some offering commanding views to the busy streets of Manhattan. Some rooms are equipped with kitchenettes, allowing for extended stays and catering to families. There are amenities geared for kids, a spa and a salon, and the hotel is proud to be pet friendly.

The Gansevoort offers contemporary Italian cuisine in a subdued upscale setting, at Asellina. Ballroom and meeting spaces feature full-height glass windows. Private events can be held on the much-talked-about rooftop pool deck, a contemporary outdoor space, as hip as any of the interior areas of the hotel, with the added enhancement of its Manhattan views.
